It’s destination Bollywood for director Mysskin! After Yutham Sei, the director will reportedly remake his cult hit Anjathe in Hindi. A reputed Bollywood production house will produce the film.
Anjathe was an action entertainer that featured Narain, newcomer Ajmal Ameer, Prasanna and Vijayalakshmi of Chennai 600028 fame in the lead roles.
Ranbir Kapoor was in Delhi recently where the premiere of Rajneeti was being held. Ranbir came to know that his ex-girlfriend Deepika was also in the city that night for a shoot.
It is heard that he wanted to invite her for the premiere of his film Rajneeti. He drove to the hotel where she was staying and knocked her door.
But Deepika didn’t respond to his knocks. After several trials Ranbir left to his hotel and sources say that he has been feeling very sad for dumping Deepika.
Following in the footsteps of Giselle Monteiro, Barbara Mori and Sarah Thompson is yet another foreign babe Candice Boucher, who is all set to make her Bollywood debut.
For the uninitiated, Candice hails from South Africa and was in the news recently for appearing nude in the April issue of Playboy magazine.
Candice will be making her Bollywood debut in a film directed by Prashant Chadha (who earlier directed Himesh’s debut flick Aap Kaa Surroor). The film will have the South African bombshell paired opposite yet another debutant Sachiin Joshi. Sachiin may be yet to make his debut but he does have strong Bollywood connections.
After all he is the MD of XXX energy drink, the brand ambassador of which is none other than Baadshah of Bollywood- Shahrukh Khan. During the recently held IPL, Sachiin was seen many-a-time in the company of SRK.
The untitled film is going to be shot at some exotic locations like Germany, Morocco, China and the Czech Republic. The makers- Percept Pictures- are also planning to have a worldwide release by dubbing the film in as many as 5 languages.
Critically acclaimed film “Ishqiya” is set to be screened at the Munich International Film Festival to be held June 25-July 3.
“We are happy that our efforts as a film production house are recognised worldwide. In fact, ‘Ishqiya’ is a cult film whose success story will surely leave its deep impressions on the audience’s mind,” Hiren Gada, director of Shemaroo Entertainment, said in a press statement.
The film released in January 2010 and has been co-produced by Shemaroo Entertainment and Vishal Bhardwaj.
It is the directorial debut of Abhishek Chaubey and features Naseeruddin Shah, Vidya Balan and Arshad Warsi.
Ajay Devgn’s look in the upcoming film “Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai” is inspired by Amitabh Bachchan’s iconic look in “Deewar”, says director Milan Luthria.
Set in the 1970’s, the film sees Ajay donning a purely white ensemble, similar to what Amitabh wore in “Deewar”.
“I happened to see ‘Deewaar’ and loved Amitji’s all-white look when he goes for his father’s funeral in the film. I realised that the look would work for Ajay as he looks good in white. Ajay wears white throughout the film. It gives him a different identity,” Luthria said in a press statement.
Before settling on the “all white” look for Ajay, whose role is said to be inspired by infamous gangster Haji Mastan, the team had tried 37 costumes.
Due for a July 30 release, the crime thriller follows the rise of Sultan (Ajay Devgn), and the conflict, when his protégé Shoaib (Emraan Hashmi), challenges his supremacy, and usurps power to rule the murky underbelly of Mumbai.
The scorching sun and rising mercury levels is making it increasingly difficult for the cine stars to shoot this summer. Locket Chatterjee and Rudranil Ghosh who are shooting for the movie Necklace directed by Shekhar Das had to face the brunt of the Sun God recently.
The director was being forced to wrap up the shooting recently when the actors gave it to the heat.
The movie was being shot at Hastings and Race Course, when the actors began to feel uneasy. Blood started dripping from Locket’s neck as she was wearing a heavy make-up and being exposed to the sun.
Rudranil’s condition was no better and the actor had to take rest at home. Shekhar did not want to comprise with the sequence and thus cancelled it.
Abhishek Bachchan seems to think love is in the hair. He is very particular about his haircut and styling but he had a bad hair day while shooting for his upcoming release Raavan. Believe it or not, it was filmmaker Mani Ratnam who gave Abhishek a hard time.
Mani wanted Abhishek to sport a very short hair in the film, as he plays a dalit leader who kidnaps Aishwarya Bachchan. He was not satisfied with the haircut that hairstylist Aalim gave before they left for Kerala. So, he picked a pair of scissors and started trimming his hair. The result? The actor ended up looking weird.
Knowing that something had gone wrong, Mani called in Aalam to Kerala that night itself to give the finishing touch. Since then, he was flown in every week to make sure that Abhishek’s hair was in right shape.
Aalim revealed that Abhishek had to go for a dangerous look with stubble, thick moustache and a very short hairstyle for his role in Raavan. He added that he cut his hair with the filmmaker monitoring it.
