Imran Khan became more evident at a nightclub in Dubai

imran-khan[1]1

Chocolaty, Imran Khan continues to be a heartthrob among his female fans, despite two box office back to back flops. This became more evident at a nightclub in Dubai.
Last weekend, Imran was in Dubai to promote his upcoming movie I Hate Luv Storys.

It so happened that, the actor was shaking hands with his fans, after stepping out of the club, when a crazy female fan shook his hand, but wouldn’t let go of it. Initially, Imran did not mind. But she kept holding Imran’s hand, and when the security intervened and tried to take her away, the girl bit his hand.

Yes, the girl actually sank her teeth into Imran’s flesh. The actor yelled in pain and that’s when the security guards used force to pull the girl away from Imran.

From what we hear, the girl was obsessed with Imran and wanted to kiss his hand. But she got angry when security intervened. That’s when the kiss turned into a bite.

Kareena maddly in love with Saif

saif5[1]1

Looks like, Kareena is maddly in love with her dear beau Saif Ali Khan nowadays. She just can’t take her eyes off from him , and the reason is - his new cropped hair look.

Celebrity hair-dresser Aalim Hakim has done Saif’s new hairdo and the inspiration is Matt Damon’s look from The Bourne Identity.

Aamir pairs with Danny Boyle

amir6[1]1

Some time ago reports claimed that industry rivals actors Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan were about to come together for Anurag Kashyap and Danny Boyle’s forthcoming movie Bombay Velvet. However, the reality now is something very different.
It is known that Shah Rukh was approached by Danny for Slumdog Millionaire for the role which was eventually played by Anil Kapoor. It had been speculated that because he turned down the offer citing professional reasons, his relationship with Danny went sour. Later on it was said that Shah Rukh and Danny had patched up and were constantly in touch with each other. But now we’ve learnt that that this time around for Bombay Velvet Shah Rukh has not even been approached because both Danny and Anurag want to have Aamir as the solo lead.

“All that you have read about Bombay Velvet is completely false. Danny and my eyes are fixed on Aamir and no one else. I’m certain that Aamir will love the script and would want to come on board. If Aamir does not take up the offer, we will look for someone else, but we are definitely not looking at Shah Rukh for this movie. We both feel Aamir is the best guy. We have not even thought about a back-up because we are hoping that we will be able to get Aamir,” says Anurag.

Anurag has been busy for over 10 months now going back and forth with the script of his movie. He adds, “The script is finally locked and it’s turned out different and nice.
We begin casting as soon as we have the lead in place. We feel Aamir has the intensity and the depth to shoulder the movie all alone. Shah Rukh is a nice actor but this film is tailor-made for Aamir. We are narrating the film to Aamir in a couple of weeks. Danny won’t be able to come down for it but is looking forward to Aamir’s response.”

Arjun pairs with two most talented heroins

arjun21

Working with two of the most talented, not to mention gorgeous women in tinsel town has got to be any actor’s dream, but Arjun Rampal is actually living it out. In Karan Johar’s Stepmom remake, We are Family, Arjun essays Ed Harris’ role from the original. Kajol and Kareena Kapoor play the women in his life.

Arjun, who is looking forward to the film’s release, says, “I can’t reveal much about the film at the moment, but yes, I am cast with Kajol and Kareena - both of whom are powerhouse performers. It’s a beautiful film with two lovely actresses and tells the story of three children. You’ll need to carry a lot of tissues while watching the movie. It’s the kind of movie I believe in.”

Despite the film’s intense subject, Arjun says working on it has almost felt like a holiday. “Kajol has always been my favourite actor, while Kareena is more of a buddy... It’s wonderful to have two gorgeous actresses as my co-stars. There was a comfort level between us, so we didn’t have any problems during the shoot,” says the actor.

Salman has always stood by his friends

salman4[1]1

Salman Khan’s staunch loyalty to the people he is close to is well known in the industry. Whether it’s co-stars, producers or directors, Salman has always stood by his friends in their time of need. It is also known that Salman agreed to star in the sequel to Andaz Apna Apna that has been in the pipeline for a while. So what’s the connection, you may wonder.

Well, we now hear that the entire sequel plan came about because of Salman’s penchant for standing by his friends. Veteran producer Vinay Sinha had been going through a bad patch for a while and approached Salman to do a film. Salman readily agreed, and after much deliberation, it was decided that a sequel to Andaz Apna Apna - released in 1994 and nominated for four major awards - should be made. Salman and Vinay (who was the producer of Andaz Apna Apna) had lengthy discussions about the script. The original film had been directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and starred Salman, Aamir Khan, Karisma Kapoor and Raveena Tandon.

The sequel got a shot in the arm with Salman and Aamir reviving their friendship recently. Vinay says, “Yes, I approached Salman and he agreed immediately. I was touched by his gesture. I plan to approach Rajkumar and Aamir now. I hope everything works out fine.”

john11[1]1

Now, the actor wants to produce a film on soccer, which he has been planning for the last two years. A diehard football lover John said that he wishes to produce a film based on any possible sport in the earth.

The Bollywood hunk said, "My earlier movie on football Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal (2007) could not make it big at the box office. The reason may be it that it was not set in India but in South Hall. Abhishek Bachchan talks about Raavan

abhishek1

When Raavan opened to below average houses on Friday, it was mauled by the audience as well as the critics and showed no improvement over the weekend, it was certain that this Mani Ratnam film won’t even become a respectable disaster like Kites. Respectable? Because Kites, despite all its negatives, still managed a good first weekend for itself that helped it come closer to the 50 crore mark as the lifetime total. This means that the film had the ignominy of being the biggest disaster ever with the highest total for a disaster/flop tag. Before Kites, the position was held by Chandni Chowk to China, Delhi 6 and Tashan which were the ’highest grossing flops’ ever with a final total managing to cross 30 crores.

However, for Abhishek Bachchan, it would be a painful experience to see his Raavan not reaching even the 30 crore mark. If the poor start to the film wasn’t enough, the film nosedived over the week. This meant that the first week stood in the vicinity of 25 crores. However, it would be challenging for the film to gain even the 5 crores mark if the trends had been any indication. With no takers for the film in the second week as well, the film would wrap up well under 30 crores.

Does that mean the end of the road for Abhishek Bachchan? Certainly not. Though the world has held him responsible for the failure of the film, if one thinks objectively it’s the character which has failed here, not the actor. This is the reason why Abhishek can still look forward to the future is because he has some prestigious projects like Ashutosh Gowariker’s Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se, Farhan Akhtar-Ritesh Sidhwani’s Game and Rohan Sippy’s Dum Maro Dum lined up in next nine months. Of course these are crucial months but one hit should change the equation for the actor who has survived for a decade now.

Next nine months would indeed be looked at quite carefully by all Abhishek followers. And of course the detractors!

The hot Bollywood pair is committed to health

Bollywood bombshell, Bipasha Basu, and her beau John Abraham have been seen endorsing various products. The couple also appeared together for the Clinic All Clear commercial. The presence of this hot pair increases the brand visibility of any product.
Recently, the couple was approached to endorse an Indian herbal aphrodisiac, but they declined the offer despite being offered a huge amount of money. Bipasha said that they will only promote health and fitness products as a couple.

Speaking on this, Bipasha said, “My passion for health and fitness allow me to endorse only credible health products. I am happy to promote them as they encourage people to lead a healthy life. But I can never go for the other thing (the aphrodisiacs).”

Ranbir and Imran talk about their films

Imran Khan and Ranbir Kapoor are perhaps the best in the younger lot of actors in Bollywood currently. They are rivals but at the same time they are great friends as well. But friendship also brings with it a certain amount of jealously and that’s exactly what Imran feels sometimes.
Imran said, "I find Ranbir a very exciting actor to watch. He’s a damn good dancer. He is a better dancer than I am. I don’t have that natural flair. I need to work and rehearse. He doesn’t rehearse. I am always jealous of people who dance well."

So do Ranbir and Imran talk about their films? "We don’t discuss scripts but we are very upfront about (each other’s) films. He called me after watching LUCK and said that it was damn bad," revealed Imran.
We wonder what Ranbir will have to say about Imran’s upcoming film, I HATE LUV STORYS which releases on July 2nd.

Saif gets new look

27861[1]

Saif avoided cameras and paparazzi pictures until his departure to Morocco this week in order to avoid giving away his Agent Vinod look.

But man proposes, Aamir disposes. Aamir insisted that Saif make it to the party at his home last weekend, thereby blowing the whistle on Saif’s carefully-concealed look.

On the eve of his departure to Morocco for the shooting of his second home production Agent Vinod, Saif Ali Khan, completely revamped his look and went into hiding until he left the country.

According to close friends, Saif was apprehensive about the exposure of his special makeover in as Agent Vinod. He has lost oodles of weight changed his hairstyle, and redesigned his entire body language to play a lean spy.

A friend of Saif says, “If Shahid Kapoor in his dad’s film Mausam has modelled his look on Tom Cruise in Top Gun, Saif’s role model for Agent Vinod is Matt Damon in Bourne Identity.”

The special hair styling done by Aalim Hakim, clipping off the long tresses that Saif was lately seen sporting, had been planned for six months. Saif wanted to delay the haircut until the final moment before his departure to Morocco.

Besides that Saif has been working out frantically and toning his muscles to look sinewy, agile and panther- like.

While Saif remained inaccessible for any questions on his makeover for Agent Vinod (he probably thinks even talking about it would invite copycats) his ladylove Kareena Kapoor, willingly and proudly spilled the beans. “Saif has never looked cooler. He has lost 9 kilos in three months. He’s all toned and rippling muscles now. He had long hair for so long that I had forgotten how dashing he looks in cropped hair. Saif has got his hair cropped really short, that’s all I can tell you about his Agent Vinod look. He got it done a couple of days back. Since then he was reluctant to step out of his house. ”

So frightened was Saif of revealing his new look that he refused to show it even to his own parents. Only Kareena had the privilege of seeing Saif’s madeover avatar. Until Aamir’s party.

“And that too only because I’ll see how he looks anyway because I’m his co-star,” laughs Kareena, adding that her look in Agent Vinod would also be unique.

“Aki Nirula is doing my look for Agent Vinod. I don’t think I’ve ever looked the way I would in Agent Vinod. As for Saif, he looks like a Hollywood star for the film. I can’t take my eyes off him.”

Working with Aamir would be a joy says Amitabh

amitabh

Lately he has been interacting a lot with Bollywood perfectionist Aamir Khan and even convinced him to join Twitter. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan admits it would be nice to work with the talented actor, but there is no project in the pipeline yet.

“Why would you assume that when two actors meet and have dinner together they would be doing a project together? Aamir was in the same hotel as me. He called, we met and went out for a meal. Just another social evening, nothing more,” Big B, who recently dined with Aamir in London, told IANS in an interview.

“Working with Aamir would be a joy, particularly if he were to direct the film,” added the megastar who is unperturbed by the negative feedback of his son Abhishek’s recently-released “Raavan”.

“People pay to go and see a film. If they do not like something, they have the liberty to criticise it… It’s filmmaking. Happens the world over. One accepts the public verdict, learns from it and tries again,” he said.

Meera Chopra is reported to be Priyanka’s cousin

Meera Chopra

She never used Priyanka Chopra’s name to get films. South Indian actress Meera Chopra is reported to be Priyanka’s cousin. Better known as Nila, the hottie is now set to enter Bollywood.

The 27-year-old actress was born in Delhi and did her bachelors from the US. She started her career from an advertising firm and later even worked for NDTV. But soon the girl got film offers from south. Her first movie was Anbe Aaruyire, released in the year 2007, which was a big Telugu hit. Then the actress did many Tamil films too.

Meera was recently in news for hiring Priyanka’s ex-manager Prakash Jaju, who was arrested after Priyanka filed complaint against him in the year 2004. Jaju was the one who helped PC to bag films with bigwigs like Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan at the early stage of her career.

Prakash will be able to convince Jolie for the role

angelina-jolie-1

Having made his mark in Bollywood and proving himself yet again with ‘Rajneeti’, Prakash Jha has rolled up his sleeves once again for his magnum opus ‘Draupadi’, which is touted to be an adaptation of the great Indian epic Mahabharata.

Jha wanted to take Madhuri Dixit for the lead role in his Hindi version but could not do so. Now, for the English version of the movie, Jha has Angelina Jolie in his mind.

Talking to a news daily, Jha said, “‘Draupadi’ is the ultimate tribute to womanhood. I’ve wanted to make it for years. Yes, Madhuri was my choice earlier. But now I’m going to make it as an international film with an international cast on a budget that would make the film a grand epic.”

“The actors have to be exotic in their features since my ‘Draupadi’ would be set in the mountains. If you’ve seen Peter Brooks’s celebrated stage adaptation of the Mahabharata it starred Mallika Sarabhai who does have exquisite features,” Jha said.

Whether or not, Prakash will be able to convince Jolie for the role, only time can tell!!

Lara has been held responsible for havoc in Bhupathi’s married life

lara-dutta-mahesh

Off and again, Lara Dutta has been linked with Mahesh Bhupathi.
In fact, Bhupathi was claimed to be the apparent reason behind Lara dumping off Dino Morea and Lara has been held responsible for havoc in Bhupathi’s married life. The inside sources also claim that Mahesh and Lara are very close to living in together and some also claim that the love birds are hunting for a private and cozy nest for themselves.

These days, however, Bhupathi’s wife, Shvetha Jaishankar, denies that she ever wanted a divorce. Shvetha told daily newspaper DNA, “Although I would not like to delve into my personal matters…I wish to clarify that the reference to me filing for a divorce is false. There is no question of differences arising over my role in the company.”

Nevertheless, the editor of Savvy magazine, Andrea Costabir, continues to stand with her story of the irreconcilable differences between Mahesh and Shvetha, saying that the marriage was definitely headed for Splitville.

Meghna Naidu registered a complaint with the Cyber Crime Investigation

Meghna Naidu
Actress Meghna Naidu on Tuesday registered a complaint with the Cyber Crime Investigation Cell (CCIC) of the Mumbai crime branch, after an anonymous person allegedly hacked into her email account and maligned her during chat conversations with her friends on email.

According to Naidu, on Saturday she received calls from three of her friends who asked her whether someone was using her email account.

“Since I was not using the email account at that time, I was shocked to know that someone had hacked into my email account. My friends told me that the hacker was maligning me. The hacker told my friends during the chat that I was pregnant and that I was having a relationship with some actor,” said Naidu, a resident of Lokhandwala Complex, Andheri.

She added that the hacker had used her Gmail account for two
hours. “My friends realised that it wasn’t me chatting with them. Then they called me up and informed me. On Tuesday, I registered a complaint in this regard. I want to know who the hacker is and why he maligned me. The IP addresses of the computers from which the chat messages were sent have been traced to Byculla and Pune,” she said, adding that earlier her email and Facebook accounts were hacked. “After that, I had closed my Facebook account,” Naidu said.

“We have requested the Gmail authorities to provide us login and logout details of the email account,” said police inspector Mukund Pawar from CCIC.

Kangana plays Madhubalan role

A film, which deals with the underworld, Kangana plays a woman, a cross between yesteryear actress Madhubala and the wife of former Mumbai don Haji Mastan.
Haji Mastan was a great fan of Madhubala and he married Sona, a woman who looked very similar to her. In the film, Kanganan plays Rehana, a superstar of Bollywood with a great fan following, who falls in love with a don. She says her character incorporates traits of the bold beauties of the ’70s such as Zeenat Aman and Parveen Babi also.

The film, set in the Mumbai of the ’70s, is directed by Milan Luthria. The story of the film is about the rise of Sultan (Ajay Devgn) as the underworld king of Mumbai and how he is challenged by his protégé Shoaib (Emraan Hashmi).

Kareena Kapoor takes risk

When it’s a Rohit Shetty film, expect a pageantry of cars on the big screen. The director made Ajay Devgan propose his love to Bipasha Basu in a mid-air upended car in All The Best. Now, he’s made Kareena Kapoor ride on the bonnet of.
A moving automobile in Golmaal 3. The comedy film about a bunch of oddball characters in funny situations stars a host of actors including Ajay Devgan, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Kunal Khemu, Arshad Warsi and Mithun Chakraborty. The most eye-grabbing, however, would be Kareena’s entry scene in the flick.

Imran married Juhi

02

Born into a film family has its advantages. Imran Khan chuckles, “During the making of my maamu Aamir’s starrer, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1989), I was four years old. I had a huge crush on the film’s heroine, Juhi Chawla. I even proposed to her and gave her a ring which she accepted. We got married.”

Grinning mischievously from ear to ear, he says, “The relationship didn’t work out, but she is my first wife. I still feel very bad about it (not working out).”

Vidya Balan says no to Ram Gopal Varma’s film

vidya-balan-4082

The latest buzz has it that Vidya Balan said no to Ram Gopal Varma’s film. And apparently, she is not the only one who said no. The director is having a tough time getting a heroine for the film. Ramu is planning five films to be made by his assistant directors. The maverick director also plans to introduce a female director, Rumina, for the first time.
Our source said, “The film is called Shaque and as the title suggests, it is about the trouble that suspicion causes between married couples.
The plot is an engrossing drama like all Ramu films and he zeroed in on Vidya.
But she turned down the film.”
Apparently Ramu was also keen to have Sridevi on board. “Ramu had Sridevi in mind and wanted Shaque to be her comeback launch. But things did not fall into place here either,”said our source.
“He then approached Sahana Goswami but it was a no go here as well. Undaunted, Ramu has decided to still go ahead with his project and the hunt is on.”

Deepika Padukone and John Abraham playing a romantic couple on screen

john

Soon we might get to see Deepika Padukone and John Abraham playing a romantic couple on screen. Yes, the two good-lookers of B-town haven’t surprisingly been paired yet, but that is going to change if south director Ravi Maria has his way.

Ravi, we hear, is going to remake his Tamil hit film ‘Milaga’ in Hindi and Telugu. For the Hindi flick titled Mirchi, he hopes to rope in John and Deepika.

According to Maria, John has even expressed his interest in being part of the project.

“John Abraham has recently watched ‘Milaga’ and expressed interest to act in its Hindi remake. The Bollywood version titled ‘Mirchi’ would have Deepika Padukone as heroine,” Maria is quoted to have told a website.

The Hindi film will be set in Goa. Maria plans to make it slicker and snazzier than the original Tamil film.

Salman Khan just fell in love with Sri Lanka

Salman

Salman Khan is being very proactive with his movies these days. When he went to Sri Lanka recently, he fell in love with the place and shot an entire video himself to ensure the director would agree to shoot there for the film Ready.

Our source said, “Salman Khan just fell in love with Sri Lanka and found the place to be just apt for the movie. But Anees, the director, had prior commitments and could not do a recce of the location.” So Salman shot the video and showed it to Anees, who was convinced.

When contacted Anees Bazmee said, “Mauritius was definitely under consideration but we zeroed in on Sri Lanka for the shoot. Salman is so charged about the film that at times he would just call me out of the blue and ask me to come on the sets of Dabangg. We would have lengthy discussions there.”

Ranbir says about Katrina

ka

Q Raajneeti is your second major hit after Ajab Prem... Would you say Katrina is your lucky mascot?
I think it is very unfair to call Katrina ‘lucky’. She is a very hardworking girl and when you work hard, your hard work becomes your luck.

Q After two superhits, people are already comparing you to Shah Rukh Khan. How does it feel?
You cannot compare two people - you cannot compare Dilip Kumar to Amitabh Bachchan or to Shah Rukh. These actors and many others are superstars and legends while I have just begun my career. All I want to do is work with good directors and do good roles.
Q Would you say there is a lot of raajneeti in Bollywood as well?
I have not seen it. All my peers and friends in the industry are positive - each one of them. We are competitive but in a good way.

Q The number of high-end brands you are endorsing - a cola, a consumer electronic product, a fashion line and now a car - has been rising steadily?.
I’m basically an actor. When a brand comes to you, it shows that they think you have a connect with the audience. It makes you feel more responsible towards your films and your audience.

Q A lot has been said about you doing Anurag Kashyap’s biopic on Kishore Kumar.
Yes, I have been approached for it but a lot of work has to be done on it. We don’t know if it will happen or not and when it will happen. It is too early to talk about it.

Pakistani singer Ali Zafar debut as an actor with Tere Bin Laden

FA9_Ali_Zafar

Pakistani singer Ali Zafar, who makes his Bollywood debut as an actor with Tere Bin Laden, was initially apprehensive about taking up the film fearing that it would hurt the sentiments of people.

"When I received the offer I was apprehensive, as the title of the film goes Tere Bin Laden. But when I read the script I found it was a comedy. It is a satire and does not hurt anyone’s ideology," Zafar told PTI.

"The idea excited me and the script was hilarious. It was fun to do this film," he added.

The pop singer and actor, who has delivered hit numbers like Sajania and Masty, is playing a journalist in the Abhishek Sharma-directed movie.

"I play a journalist from Pakistan, who is desperate to migrate to the US. He fails to get there because of visa problems post 9/11. So he decides to produce a fake video of Osama Bin Laden to attract attention, but lands in trouble," Zafar said.

The 30-year-old versatile artist prefers doing "intelligent cinema" and likes the work of Bollywood actors Akshay Kumar and Govinda.

"I like the work of Akshay Kumar and Govinda, their comic timing is superb. With regards to films, I love the ’Munnabhai series’, My Name is Khan and Rajneeti," he said.

Besides acting in the film, Zafar, also known as ’Prince of Pop’ in Pakistan, has also lent his voice to two songs.

"I have sung two songs in the film - I love Amrika and Ullu da pattha. Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy have given fabulous music (in the film)," he said.

Tere Bin Laden is set for a worldwide release on July 16.

Zarine Khan discreetly stepped aside

aamir

At Aamir Khan’s party thrown for Argentinean music composer Gustavo Santaolalla (he’s composing music for Aamir’s Dhobi Ghaat) on Saturday, one would have expected Salman Khan to walk hand in hand with Katrina Kaif.
But it seems that the rumours of the split between the couple are true, for the flamboyant Khan walked in at the party after mid-night not with Katrina, but her lookalike Zarine Khan.

Zarine, who is Salman’s discovery and debuted in Bollywood with the actor’s film Veer, was looking slim, trim and gorgeous but was cautious not to be photographed with Salman, whom she considers as her mentor.

So when Aamir greeted Salman and posed for photographers, Zarine discreetly stepped aside (see the pic). Clever gal!

And from what we hear, she and Sallu did bond well during the party.

Kya Sallu Bhai! Keeping the media in the dark?

Raavan is Abhishek’s third toughest film by the magical Mani Ratnam.

abhi

What does Abishek Bachchan have that the senior Bachchan doesn’t? Three films with the movie making maverick, Mani Ratnam, that’s what! And it has begun to rankle the Big B.

He has been urging Mani to fill that valuable lacuna in his repertoire.

Laughs Abhishek, “Pa keeps pulling my leg and Mani’s about it. He keeps telling me, “You’ve done three films with Mani whereas I haven’t even done one.” I keep retorting. “But you’ve worked with my all-time favourite director Manmohan Desai.”

Shooting in the sinister jungles for Mani Ratnam’s Raavan ,Abhishek was more concerned for the wellbeing of his wife Aishwarya who had to perform some of the most dangerous stunts ever done by a female actor .

“I am a normal man and a normal husband. I was definitely concerned for my wife’s wellbeing. And she was equally concerned about me,” says Abhishek.

Ironically the dainty-looking beauty was more than equal to the gruelling stunts in the jungle.

Says the proud husband, “Oh she’s very very strong. But Mani wouldn’t allow her to do anything that was unsafe. Speaking for me it was great fun. Ask any of Mani’s actors. They’ll tell you they’re willing to do anything that he asks them to. Raavan is the most difficult film I’ve ever done. It offered me my most challenging role to date. It was deeply challenging film for me and Aishwarya because we shot in the jungles under the severest of conditions. But finally it was worth it.”

How does he rate his performance? Abhishek says, “I can’t say I’m satisfied, though. When I saw the film recently I realized there is so much more that I could have done with my role. Given the opportunity I’d do Raavan all over again, and a lot more.”

Raavan is Abhishek’s third and by far the toughest film by the magical Mani Ratnam.

Says Abhishek, “I believe Raavan is even more magical than Yuva and Guru. It’s a territory that neither of us have ever visited. I believe it’s Mani’s most massy film till date. You know it’s funny , but because Mani has a fantastic aesthetic sense and he’s constantly raising the bar with every film of his it is believed that his films are high art meant for a select audience. Not true! Mani is for the masses.”

The three-film rapport with Mani is the envy of the entertainment industry. Abhishek says he never questions Mani’s judgement. “I completely go by his judgement and believe he knows the best.”

Mani is all set to work with Ranbir Kapoor in his next. Does that make Abhishek jealous? “I would’t be jealous if he works with another actor. My love and respect for Mani isn’t restricted to a role. Our relationship goes beyond films. Having said that, I would of course want to work with him a fourth time. The entire industry wants to work with him. Why wouldn’t I?”

Raavan wrenched Abhishek away from his comfort zone. “To shoot in the jungles wasn’t easy. But why do a film unless it challenges you to go beyond your comfort zone? I’ve always done films that remove me from the comfort zone and put me in a place I’ve never been. That’s one of the main criteria for choosing a role.”

Focussing on the emotions while doing those heart-in-the-mouth stunts wasn’t easy.

Says the evolving actor, “That was double challenge. First I was doing a role that required me to perform the most challenging physical activities. Then I also had to emote in ways that I had never done. And the one couldn’t be compromised for the other. It was very difficult. But now I realize the pain was worth it.”

Abhishek says Mani Ratnam showed him the film as it was being made. “So I was aware of what we were shooting together. I knew it was something very very special.”

Raavan and the shooting in the jungles brought Abhishek closer to nature. “It couldn’t get any more natural…we were in the jungles with the animals, insects, waterfalls, rain and Nature for months. It was Mother Nature in all her glory. I’ve always been very ecologically savvy. But this experience just changed my life.”

Abhishek has seen both the Tamil and the Hindi version of Raavan and he’s amazed by how different Aishwarya’s performance is in both. Abhishek also struck a chord with Vikram who plays the protagonist. “I’ve known Vikram for a very long time. He’s a very sweet chap. I take it as a compliment when co-stars enjoy working with me say they enjoyed the experience. Making a film should be as much fun as watching it.”

Who will play the lead opposite for Salmam?

salman_katrina_310_031

The latest buzz is that it will be either Deepika Padukone or Katrina Kaif who will play the lead opposite Salman Khan in Bodyguard. Insiders also maintain that producer Atul Agnihotri is keen to have Katrina Kaif on board.

“Atul confided in friends that Katrina Kaif will play the lead in Bodyguard. There are talks on and Katrina has been given a brief about it.” But there were also reports that Deepika Padukone will play the lead. So was she an option? “Salman’s well wishers feel that he and Deepika will make a fresh pair. The two have not been paired together till date.” Bodyguard, a remake of a Malayalam film by the same name, will be helmed by its original director Siddique. “Originally it was Boney Kapoor who was to produce Bodyguard and Atul Agnihotri was to direct. Boney however, gave away the rights to Atul who now feels it is only the original Bodyguard director Siddique who can do justice to it. His original version was a super duper hit down South, that had Harisree Asokan and Nayantara playing the central characters.” While Salman plays the role Harisree did in the original, who plays Nayantara’s role remains to be seen.

Deepika Padukone has become sky diver

Bad monsoon weather has not just caused problems for local Mumbaikars but it has also derailed actor Deepika Padukone’s ambitious sky diving plans. However, the actor is not letting this little hitch to dampen her spirits.Deepika tweeted that she is not giving up on her plans but is just rescheduling the day of her daring act. “Couldn’t do the jump yesterday...bad weather...have to reschedule it now,” she wrote.

What kept Deepika Padukone from sky diving?

Butterflies in my stomach. Actually feel like rats now! Wish me luck,” the actor had tweeted moments before she called off her plans due to rough weather. On her career front, Deepika has really bonded well with Imran Khan, her co-star from another movie, whom he dubs as a fun person to be with.

Now, the duo is at last set to work together in Bhansali’s next film after Guzaarish. Since the director stays focussed on one project at a time, he’s refraining from commenting anything about his proposed film with Kareena.

Bebo, however, is more forthcoming and has confirmed that she’s been discussing roles with Bhansali.

The actress is presently busy with beau Saif Ali Khan’s project Agent Vinod. She plans on meeting Bhansali after finishing the film’s shoot in Morocco.

Katrina Kaif wants to work with the Yash Raj banner

ktrinakaif

After her intense performance in Raajneeti, Katrina Kaif says she now wants to work on a full-fledged romantic film with the Yash Raj banner. The reason: the actress believes that the YRF banner can present its leading ladies in the most flattering light.
Their focus on strong women-oriented roles has worked for divas like Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit to Karishma Kapoor, feels Kat.
But Kat can’t act on her YRF dreams anytime soon. Right now, she is busy in Spain, shooting for Zoya Akhtar’s upcoming flick Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara, with Hrithik Roshan and Abhay Deol. Being far away in Spain also means the actress is missing Mumbai and the first rains. The shooting for ZMND will last for at least another 45 days, requiring Kat to stay back in Spain for longer. After her Spain stint, Kat flies down to London to shoot with John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan for Karan Johar’s Dostana 2.

Kunal Kohli has forbidden lead actors Deepika Padukone and Imran Khan

deepika-padukone-01

Film director Kunal Kohli, currently shooting for his film Break Ke Baad in Mauritius, has forbidden lead actors Deepika Padukone and Imran Khan from talking about the film on social networking sites on the internet.

"I’ve only asked Deepika and Imran to desist from tweeting for three weeks until Imran’s new film I Hate Luv Storys is released. I don’t want anyoverlapping in the public’s subconscious about the two films. Once Imran’s other film is out, he and Deepika are free to tweet to their heart’s content."

This is the second instance when actors have been prohibited from tweeting about a film. In the past, Sajid Nadiadwala had to restrain Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Choprafrom talking about the film Anjaana Anjaani on the net.

The director’s restrictions have, apparently, not been taken well by Imran who was heard grumbling loudly about the curtailment of the freedom of expression.

Justifying his stand, Kohli determinedly said, “I really don’t approve of stars giving out information on micro-blogging sites, but I don’t think we should stop them. What I can do is to decide when is the right time to tweet.”

Surprise Visit of Aishwarya Rai

a

The Bachchans may be busy all the way, but the family sure knows how to value and strengthen their bonding. Of late, Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have had little time to spend with each other.
It has been quite a long time they had some quality time together for their short anniversary holiday. Then Abhi got busy with the shooting of Abhinay Deo’s ‘Game’ in Greece, while Aishwarya was in India for a stint of ‘Robot’. Then Ash flew to Paris to honor Gustavo Kuerten (retired former World No.1 Brazilian tennis player) for his work with disadvantaged children. She also bonded with Steffi Graf and Mary Pierce at the charity dinner that followed.

So, missing her husband badly, Aishwarya asked her driver to take her to Abhishek as soon as she landed in Mumbai on Thursday. This was for the first time Ash took a liberty to intrude her husband while he was working at the Reliance Web World doing out-of-town press interviews. She not only met him, she also joined impromptu to talk to their fans on radio in Jaipur and Ahmedabad.

Both Abhishek and Aishwarya will be seen together in Mani Ratnam’s ‘Raavan’, where Abhi plays the character of an abductor named Veera. He is busy with the promotion of the film these days. Recently, he toured the city with six dancers dressed as characters in one of the song from the movie and he greeted fans from an open bus. He also threw goodies like ‘Raavan’ key chains and T-shirts to his fans.

Check out Aishwarya and Abhishek at a promotional event…..

Ekta Kapoor is stuck up in legal hassles

a

Time and again Bollywood film makers have drawn inspirations from real lives of real people though they abstain from claiming the story to be based on anyone.
After Kasab and Sania Mirza and Abu Salem, the next in row is Haji Mastaan who is said to be the inspiration behind Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai‘.

However, the connection of his late father with Ekta’s flick has not gone down well with Sundar Shekhar Mirza, Haji Mastan’s adopted son who has taken action against the daily soap queen by serving a legal notice to Balaji Telefilms and director Milan Luthria for making a movie based on the life of his late father without taking Mastan family’s consent first.

In addition, Mirza has objections to the fact that the flick hints at the link between Mastan and Dawood Ibrahim, a declared terrorist by the Indian government in the March 12, 1992 Bombay blasts and against whom the US Government too has issued a red alert.

Seems, Ekta Kapoor is stuck up in legal hassles this time.

Katrina Kaif has come a long way.

a

Katrina Kaif has come a long way. With countless number of hit films to her credit, she is indisputably the ruling queen of Bollywood now. Her last powerhouse film Raajneeti has surpassed the box office expectations.

She has impressed the critics and fans alike with her almost perfect Hindi and her acting skills. Another achievement of this sexy beauty is that she has caught the eye of the world renowned artist and film director M.F Hussain.

The artist is known for selecting Bollywood beauties as his muse; his previous muses included the Dhak Dhak girl Madhuri Dixit, the elegant Tabu, sexy seductress Urmila Matondkar with the last being the girl next door Amrita Rao.

Now after watching the film Yuvraaj twice, the legendary artist is entranced by Miss Kaif’s beauty. He will commemorate her beauty on canvas and make it timeless.

M.F Hussain is certainly not the first person to be awestruck by Katrina’s beauty, but he will certainly be the first to paint her and make her beauty immortal.

Abhishek Bachchan was shocked by people’s response

a

Actor Abhishek Bachchan, who hopped to seven locations across the city to promote Mani Ratnam’s “Raavan”, was overwhelmed to see fans going crazy for him and said he never knew that so many people know him.

“I like to promote my films myself. I want to go out to the audience and tell them about the film directly. It’s a good fun. I was shocked by people’s response. I never knew that so many people know me. Honestly. I was shocked to see so many people showed up,” said Abhishek at a press conference at Cinemax Versova after a day-long tour Saturday.

People across the road were seen shouting his names and clicking photographs from their mobile phones.

Aishwarya Rai, who didn’t accompany Abhishek during the rally as she was busy in other promotional activities, joined him at the conference.

“I was also busy with other promotional activities. It was decided that Veera (Abhishek) and his troupe would be out. So I made sure that at the last stop I will come and join you all and meet you so that’s how I am here.

“This was during the course of the day, I was getting photographs. People were clicking and sending me and I realised that it was too much fun,” said Aishwarya.

“Raavan” features Aishwarya Rai as a dance teacher who is happily married to a policeman, played by Tamil superstar Vikram, and shows how Veera causes mayhem in their lives.

Asked if she planning anything like Abhishek to connect with her audience, she just said, “Wait and watch. There are couple of days for the film to release, so wait and watch”.

Releasing Friday, the movie has been co-produced by Reliance BIG Pictures and Madras Talkies.

Mohammed Shaikh and Rubina Ali Qureshi have been signed for a Hollywood movie

a

Nearly two years after “Slumdog Millionaire” created history at the Oscars, child actors from a Mumbai slum Azharuddin Mohammed Shaikh and Rubina Ali Qureshi have been signed for a Hollywood movie. They will each be paid 1,000 pounds per day for 20-25 days of shooting, their contract says.

The movie, “Lord Owen’s Lady”, is being produced by Dragons Productions (Wales) Ltd, based in London and Cardiff, Rubina’s publicist and agent Dinesh Dubey said.

“The shooting for the movie, for which Indian actor Rohini Hattangadi and some other kids from ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ have been signed on, will start in early 2011,” Dubey said here Saturday.

Hattangadi, an accomplished actor, has earlier played Kasturba Gandhi in the Oscar winning “Gandhi” (1982) by Sir Richard Attenborough. Ben Kingsley played the title role.

“Lord Owen’s Lady” will also feature Hollywood star Anthony Hopkins as the father of Lord Owen, a reckless heir who falls in love with a stunning Indian woman.

“Azharuddin and Rubina shall be playing the role of Hopkin’s grandchildren in the movie,” Dubey said.

The movie is expected to be shot in Dubai, Wales and other locations, said Dubey.

Azharudding and Rubina shot to fame for their roles in Danny Boyles’ movie “Slumdog Millionaire”, which bagged eight Oscars including for the best movie of the year in 2009.
